Emerson’s Priorities

Academic Excellence and Student Success

Every student deserves the opportunity to graduate prepared for the future. Emerson believes Placer Union High School District should maintain high academic standards, support strong classroom instruction and help students build the skills they need for life after high school.

That includes preparation for college, career training, the trades, military service and the workforce. Not every student takes the same road after graduation, but every student deserves a road that leads somewhere.

Safe and Respectful Campuses

Students learn best when campuses are safe, respectful and focused. Emerson supports policies that help teachers teach, students learn and parents know their children are in a secure environment.

Safe schools require more than slogans. They require clear expectations, consistent communication and a districtwide commitment to student well-being.

Parents as Partners

Parents are not outsiders in their child’s education. They are partners.

Emerson believes parents should be respected, informed and heard. Strong schools are built when families, teachers, administrators and board members work together with honesty and mutual respect.

Fiscal Responsibility and Accountability

School board members have a responsibility to protect taxpayer dollars and make sure district resources are spent wisely. Emerson believes budgets should reflect the district’s priorities: students, classrooms, safety, strong programs and long-term stability.

Families and taxpayers deserve transparency, accountability and thoughtful decision-making from their school board.

Preparing Students for Life

A strong education should help students succeed beyond the classroom. Emerson supports expanding practical pathways that help students discover their strengths, build confidence and prepare for adulthood.

Whether a student plans to attend a university, enroll in community college, enter a trade, serve in the military or begin working, our schools should help them take the next step with purpose.
